Our Story

Jennifer Wisniewski and Lisa Fosler Kelly, the owners of Bread & Wine, conceptualized, obtained funding, oversaw build out and executed every aspect of their ground-up restaurant. They have successfully operated the popular Chicago restaurant for over three years. The restaurant boasts 60 seats, serving New American fare, specializing in small production wines and craft cocktails.  The Irving Park spot is Michelin recommended and received two stars from Phil Vettel (Chicago Tribune) shortly after opening.

Although they have certainly made their share of mistakes, they have learned from each and every challenge along the way. Using their own experiences as a guide, they will help new owners avoid costly mistakes prior to opening and will reevaluate an existing restaurant to help make it become more profitable.

Together they have assembled a team to assist in streamlining the process of opening a restaurant, ensuring the most cost efficient outcomes, with as little stress as possible.

Jen and Lisa’s strengths lie in working with smaller startup restaurants, with a firsthand understanding of what it’s like to start out on a small budget. With a skilled team at their side, this dynamic duo aims to guide new owners toward a profitable business, acting as a confident guide on the road to success.

Team

Owner Lisa Fosler Kelly
Lisa is a chef and an attorney who practiced law full time for more than 17 years. Her history includes assistance in the operation of a wine store, where she experienced wine at its most basic level.  She has worked in the restaurant industry for years, before and during her secondary education. Ms. Kelly completed the professional culinary program at Kendall College, and is the beverage director and wine manager for Bread & Wine.  Lisa has also developed three private label wines for Bread & Wine.

Owner Jennifer Wisniewski
Jen has extensive experience in restaurant development and management, and has been involved with numerous successful Chicago ventures, including Cafe Absinthe, Green Dolphin and Naha.  Her focus at Bread & Wine is maintaining operations for front of the house, planning and executing private events, and public relations.
